Gift Feature in Wii Shop Channel
What do you give the Wii Friend who has everything? How about a Virtual Console game or WiiWare software! With this new feature, you can spend your Wii Shop points on a Wii Shop item that you can have sent to a friend.
Sending a Gift
Step 1
Select the Wii Shop Channel from the Wii menu.
Step 2
Find the item you wish to send (such as a Virtual Console game or WiiWare software).
Step 3
When you've found the item you would like to send, click the "Gift" button on the item's details page.
Step 4
Select the Wii Friend you'd like to send the gift to. *To send a Wii Shop Gift to someone, register one another in your Wii Address Books. Click here for more info.
Step 5
Personalize the message that is sent to your Wii Friend by typing a quick note, and even attach a Mii if you like.
Step 6
The Wii Shop network will confirm whether your Wii Friend is eligible to receive the gift. If so, points will be deducted from your account for the gift.
Receiving a Gift
Step 1
With WiiConnect24 active, a note on your Message Board will let you know you've received a gift. When WiiConnect24 is not active, your notification will appear in the Wii Shop Channel.
Step 2
Click on the message to find out which Wii Shop item your Wii Friend has sent you and read their note. Click on the "Start" button to be taken to the item's page on the Wii Shop Channel.
Step 3
To accept the gift, select "Receive." If you want to return the gift to the sender, select "Return." Wii Shop Points will be returned to the sender for any items not accepted within 45 days.
Step 4
After you've accepted the gift, you can type a message back to the sender. Don't forget to say "Thanks!"
